Horticulture Program
Horticulture is a diverse industry which encompasses all things green.
From greenhouses, home landscaping and floral shops to football fields, golf
courses, forests and city byways, the horticulture industry offers a variety
of opportunities. Coffeyville Community College prepares students for
this industry with courses in greenhouse and nursery management,
landscaping, plant propagation, biotechnology and much more. Off
campus tours provide students with the opportunity to better acquaint
themselves with the world of horticulture.
Facilities
Coffeyville Community College horticulture students study in an environment
that includes a 3.500 square foot greenhouse located on the main campus.
Students will also gain hands-on practical experience as they transform the
campus landscaping and complete projects around the community.
Careers
Demand for employees trained in the plant sciences is growing, especially
for landscape designers, nursery production, garden center managers, crop
farm and orchard managers, golf course and athletic field managers,
technical representatives for agricultural service companies, ecological
restoration specialists and horticulture therapists.
Areas of Study
