CCC Judging Team ends a successful year

The Coffeyville Community College (CCC) sophomore Livestock Judging team ended its second season placing in the top 10 at every contest over the past two years.  The team placed fourth at Fort Hays State University, second at the Kansas Junior Livestock Show, third at the National Barrow Show, fourth at the Tulsa State Fair, third at the Texas State Fair, third at San Antonio, third at the Express Ranches Contest, fifth at the American Royal, seventh in Louisville, seventh in Denver and ninth in Houston.

“Their individual accomplishments are too numerous to list in one article,” said Coach Brian Anderson.

Seven out of the 12 individuals placed in the top 10 at a contest at least once in the past two years.  Two judgers received All-American status during this time.  All 12 students will transfer to four-year colleges in the fall including Texas A&M, Texas Tech, the University of Arkansas, Missouri State and Kansas State.

“These are great kids,” said Anderson.  “They did everything we ever asked of them to be successful.  It is not easy to do what they have done.  To be one of only four teams in the nation to place in the top 10 at every contest is a very special accomplishment.  They allowed us to lay the groundwork for success at CCC.  I am very thankful to each of them for their commitment and hard work.  They will be hard to replace but we have a talented and excited set of freshmen that are looking forward to the challenge.”
