Covick,
Rinkenbaugh earn network certification
Alex Covick
and Michael Rinkenbaugh, students in Coffeyville Community College’s
Networking Technology program taught by Jon Duffee, passed their CompTIA
Network+ certification exams in September 2005 giving them the
internationally recognized Network+ certification.
Rinkenbaugh
also passed his CompTIA A+ Hardware certification exam as part of a
self-initiated study regimen prior to the beginning of school.
Approximately
135,000 professionals worldwide possess Network+ certification. The
skills and knowledge measured by this examination were derived from an
industry-wide job task analysis and validated through an industry-wide
survey of more than 2,500 participants.
The CompTIA
Network+ certification is an international industry credential that
validates the knowledge of networking professionals with at least nine
months of experience in network support or administration or adequate
academic training.
“I am
extremely proud of these two students for being the first in this year’s
class to pass a certification exam,” said Duffee. “It shows great
leadership and determination. By taking the initiative to get this
certification exam completed ahead of schedule, it is a positive
motivating factor for the rest of their classmates. I look forward to an
excellent year full of successful certification results.” |
