Four
CCC students earn IT certifications
Four students in Coffeyville Community
College’s Networking Technology program taught by Jon Duffee recently
passed CompTIA certification exams.
Mike Rinkenbaugh passed his CompTIA A+
Software certification exam as part of a self-initiated study regimen
started prior to the beginning of school. Passing this exam completes his
A+ certification.
Three additional students passed their
CompTIA Network+ certification exams. Students passing were Tim Denson,
Ben Bowles, and Spencer Smith.
Approximately 135,000 professionals
worldwide possess Network+ certification. The skills and knowledge
measured by this examination were derived from an industry-wide job task
analysis and validated through an industry-wide survey of more than 2,500
participants.
The CompTIA Network+ certification is
an international industry credential that validates the knowledge of
networking professionals with at least nine months of experience in
network support or administration or adequate academic training.
“The students this year have shown the
drive and determination to succeed,” said Duffee. “So far, five students
have passed their Network+ exams within five weeks or less of the nine
weeks allotted. I expect we will see many great things this year from
this group.”
