Career Guide

CCC offers a variety of career resources in the Graham Library and in the Advising/Recruiting Center.  Staff persons in these areas are prepared to help students use these resources.  Some recommended online resources are listed below:

Online Career Resources

Occupational Outlook Handbook
The U.S. Department of Labor 2002-2003 Occupational Outlook Handbook gives a complete listing of Occupations in the United States.  Searches are easy to do on this site and give thorough results.  Each occupation gives information on the nature of the work, working conditions, training or education required, earnings, related occupations, as well as sources and links for additional information.

Cool Jobs gives a listing of the “Top 20 Cool Jobs to Have”!  This site also provides information on a variety of off-the-wall careers and how to get the job you want.  The motto of this site is “How to Have Fun on the Job” because work should be more than just a paycheck.

This site was created to be a supplement to the best selling book by Richard Bolles, “What Color is Your Parachute?”.  It gives information on where to find jobs, how to create an impressive resume’, provides interest tests and career advise, and what to do when you strike out in a job interview.

This site provides great job information for teens in Kansas.  Information on community service and government jobs is available as well as a link to the Kansas Job Link. This site provides an interest inventory assessment and information on each career cluster.  Information on military careers are available on this site.  A Parent’s Corner is included as well.

My Road is a great resource for students who are undecided on their major as well as those who need information on colleges and universities.  Visitors to this site can take an interest survey to help them decide on a career path, explore different college majors, choose a college based on your personal interests and needs, and research different careers.  Some of these items may be viewed without a membership to the site, others require a username and password.
