Coffeyville Elementary Students Explore Technical Careers

Coffeyville Community College partnered with Community Elementary School and Holy Name School to provide students an opportunity to explore technical careers.

Approximately 70 students toured the CCC Technical Campus, and experienced a variety of technical careers through hands-on initiatives.  Chelsey Martin, Community Elementary School Counselor, coordinated the event in conjunction with the “Girls in Engineering” experience at John Deere Coffeyville Works.

"Our faculty provided interactive hands-on activities for sixth graders to experience a variety of career fields in a short period of time," said Dr. Marlon Thornburg, CCC's Vice President for Business Initiatives and Innovation. “We welcome the opportunity to provide a fun interactive experience for the sixth grade students to see a variety of careers in action."
