Darian Dulin, the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the past three seasons at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, has agreed to take the head football coach position at Coffeyville Community College. Dulin replaces former head coach Jeff Leiker. Leiker assumed the athletic director's position at Coffeyville in November after serving as head coach of the Red Ravens the past seven seasons.

Dulin, who spent the 2004 season as the defensive coordinator at Butler Community College, returned to the Tarleton staff in 2005 after spending four years in Stephenville prior to his one-year hiatus.

Tarleton State is a NCAA Division II school playing in the Lone Star Conference. The Texans finished the 2007 season with a 9-2 overall record.

In 2006, the Tarleton defense ranked second in the Lone Star Conference in scoring defense, allowing just 18.1 points per game.  Tarleton was the number one rushing defense, allowing just 90.5 yards per game.

In 2005, Tarleton was number two in scoring defense and number one in pass defense efficiency.

In 2004, his defense finished the regular season number one in the Jayhawk Conference for total defense. Butler’s defense also led the NJCAA in scoring defense, sacks and passing efficiency defense.

Before leaving for his one season at Butler, Dulin coached the defensive backs and secondary at Tarleton from 2000 through 2003.

A former Academic All-American at both the junior and senior college levels, Dulin came to Tarleton after serving two years at Sam Houston State University, first as a defensive assistant and then as secondary coach.

Prior to his coaching at SHSU, Dulin worked in 1997 as a graduate assistant coach at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina. He served as defensive back and special teams coach, while also helping with recruiting efforts and organizing the off-season strength and conditioning program.

From January to July in 1998, Dulin was a math specialist and adjunct math instructor at Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kan.

Dulin finished his collegiate playing career at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., where he was named Defensive Most Valuable Player and served as defensive captain for the Moundbuilders team that earned a win in the Wheat Bowl in 1996.

Dulin was the recipient of Southwestern’s Dixon Minority Full Tuition Academic Scholarship and named American Chemical Society Minority Scholar. Before going to Southwestern, Dulin achieved Academic All-America status at Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kan., where he carried a 4.0 grade point average and was a Butler Scholar Athlete of the Year nominee.

A native of Lawrence, Kan., Dulin played on three state championship teams during a string of five consecutive years that Lawrence High School won the state title.

Dulin holds bachelor’s degrees in math and chemistry from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., and he earned a master’s degree of education in physical education from Tarleton.
 

Jon Wiemers

Jon Wiemers was named Red Raven Offensive Coordinator in January 2008.

Wiemers was most recently the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Concord University in Athens, West Virginia.  From 1999-2006 he coached at Emporia State University where he coached tight ends, the offensive line, and served as offensive coordinator his final three seasons at Emporia.  Emporia State finished 9-3 in 2002 and 2003 with Wiemers as an assistant, two of the top three records in Emporia State history.

Wiemers played four seasons from 1995 to 1998 at Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan.  A Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference linebacker in 1997 and 1998, Wiemers was voted team captain his senior season and voted 1998 Defensive MVP by teammates.  After completing his playing career, Wiemers served as a student assistant and linebackers coach for a year at Saginaw.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.

Jared Powers was named Offensive Line Coach in January 2008.

Powers has coached the past three seasons at Dodge City Community College.  Powers played two season at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia, where he was a first team all conference selection before transferring to William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.  While at William Jewell, Powers was a two year captain and All Conference performer for the Cardinals.

Powers holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication from William Jewell College. After graduation, Powers was hired as the running backs coach at Worchester Polytechnic Institute in Worchester, Mass. He has also served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach while at WPI.

Prior to his coaching stint at Dodge City, Powers was the defensive line coach and strength and conditioning coach at Averett University in Danville, Virginia.

Dickie Rolls

Coach Dickie Rolls will again be coaching the Red Raven tailbacks and fullbacks. He enters his nineteenth year as a member of the Raven staff. A resident of Caney, Dickie joined the Red Ravens after serving as an assistant coach at Independence Community College. Prior to coaching at ICC, he also coached at his alma mater, Caney Valley High School. Since joining the coaching staff at CCC, Coach Rolls has been instrumental in developing a long line of great Red Raven backs. He has coached two first team All-American backs and sixteen 1,000-yard rushers including Top 10 backs Brian Knuckles, J. Crabtree, Tony Jeffery, Mike Jenkins, Muhammad Abdulqaadir, Brandon Jacobs, Lee Baker, Arkee Whitlock and Travis Evans. Dickie and his wife, Valla, have a son, Mitchell, and two daughters, Morgan and McKenzie.

This will be Kelton’s first year on the Red Raven coaching staff. A Miami, Florida native, Kelton comes to Coffeyville with an impressive playing resume. Kelton played at Emporia State University from 1999 to 2002, starting 26 games at quarterback for the Hornets. He finished his ESU career third all-time in total offensive yards and fourth all-time in passing yards. After his playing career, Kelton was a graduate assistant at Emporia State and helped coach the cornerbacks, running backs and receivers in 2003 and 2004. The 2003 team qualified for the NCAA Division II playoffs. In 2005, he coached the receivers at Emporia State before moving on to Northwood University in Illinois for the 2006 season. At Northwood, he coached the safeties and the team made the playoffs. Kelton, who has a B.S. degree from Emporia State, was recently married to Bridgette (Eldridge).

Chass Williams is a 1990 graduate of Mabank (Texas) High School.  He attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, from 1990 to 1993 where he played linebacker.  He coached linebackers at Mabank High School in 1994 and 1995 before moving on to the college ranks.  He coached at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas from 1995 to 2001.  At Baker, he coached all defensive positions and was also special teams coordinator.

From 2001 to 2003, he coached at Trinity Valley Community College (Texas) where he coached the defensive line and was also special teams coordinator.  He then came back to Kansas to coach at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, from 2004 to 2006.  At Southwestern, he coached the linebackers and was also special teams coordinator.

He spent the 2007 season at Fort Scott Community College where he coached linebackers and was also the special teams coordinator.

In 2006, Williams was named to the Texas High School All-Decade Team, 1990-2000.

Keith Wilson
Assistant Coach

Keith Wilson joined the Red Raven coaching staff in March 2008.  Most recently, Keith was the wide receivers and head strength coach at the Colorado School of Mines from 2004 to 2008.  From 2003 to 2004 he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Texas Christian University.   He has also coached linebackers and quarterbacks at Muskogee (Oklahoma) High School.  Keith has a bachelor degree in Health and Human Performance from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and he also has a master's degree in College Teaching from Northeastern State University.  While at Northeastern, Keith also coached linebackers, quarterbacks, and receivers and helped the school reach the playoffs in 1999 and 2000.

Jamie is originally from Wichita, Kansas and attended Wichita North High School where he was a 3-sport athlete (football, basketball, track). Jamie played at Coffeyville Community College in 1992-93. Jamie was an All-Conference and All-American tackle at Coffeyville in 1993 and was also awarded the Pete Peltzer Award for best offensive lineman on the Red Raven team. Jamie then transferred to The Ohio State University where he started 26 straight games in the 1994 and 1995 seasons. As a senior at The Ohio State University, Jamie blocked for Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George. After a brief stint in pro football, Jamie returned to school and received his sociology degree from The Ohio State University in 1999. He was inducted into the Red Raven Football Hall of Fame in 2004. Jamie is married to the former Julie Frazier. Jamie and Julie have two sons, Austin, who is four years old and Ethan, who will be one in October 2007.

Matt will be in his second season as an assistant coach and resident assistant on the Red Raven staff. Matt started and lettered two years for the Ravens as a tight end in 2001 and 2002. As a sophomore, he was named second team All-Jayhawk Conference. Matt transferred to Kansas State University and is a Kansas State graduate. Prior to college ball, Matt was a standout player at Salina South High School. He started two years and lettered three years at Salina South. He received first team All-I-70 League honors from the Topeka Capital-Journal as a junior and senior and voted team’s defensive MVP his senior season, helping his team to a Class 5A state championship.

This will be Rose’s second season on the Red Raven staff. Rose is originally from Graysville, Alabama where he attended Minor High School and was a three-year letterman. After graduation, he attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, where they won the South State Championship and Rose received Second Team All State. Rose then transferred to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, where he was a member of the 1991 Division II National Championship Team. Rose was named to the First Team All-MIAA Conference as well as Football Gazette, Honorable Mention All-American. Rose received his Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration. Previously, Rose served as the Defensive Back Coach and was later promoted to Defensive Coordinator at Independence Community College. Rose is also the Educational Talent Search Academic Advisor for the college. Michael and his wife, Deatrea, have two children, Courtlynn, 9, and Michaela, 5.
