Fulton
Wide Receiver (1975-76)
Rob Fulton grew up
in the Kansas City suburb of Prairie Village, Kansas. He attended Shawnee
Mission East High School where he earned varsity letters in football,
basketball, and track his junior and senior years. His senior year he was
named All Conference, All State and All Metro in football, led the
basketball team in scoring and was runner-up State Champion in the low
hurdles in track.
Rob was recruited by
Dick Foster in 1975 when Dick arrived for his first year with the Red
Ravens. Rob started every game at wide receiver while in Coffeyville. He
helped preserve 1975’s unbeaten season by scoring the winning touchdown in
the last minute of a game at Garden City. He earned All Conference honors
that year. In 1976, as a sophomore, Rob earned All American and All
Conference honors and set the single game and single season Red Raven
receiving records which still stand today. In 1976, he had 58 receptions
and made 1,030 yards, an average per game of 93.6 and 7 touchdowns. Rob
had 13 receptions against Fort Scott which is the most receptions
individually in one game. He was awarded the prestigious President’s
Trophy by Dr. Russell H. Graham at the Red Raven post season football
banquet.
After the 1976
season, Rob accepted a scholarship from the University of Kansas. He
alternated at wide receiver his junior year. Rob left school early to
start a family and begin a career in the insurance industry. He is
currently employed by ING as a Regional Sales Director for worksite
marketing. Rob and his wife Kyleen reside in Huntington Beach,
California. They have six children and one grandchild. |
