Saturday's First Practice Kickstarts 2012 Campaign

August 4, 2012

The calendar may say August and the thermometer might say it's still summer, but for the Red Raven football team and fans, fall is here. The Red Ravens survived their first practice on Saturday that started at 9 a.m. Despite the early start, the temperature still reached 102 degrees by the end of the session prior to noon. The Ravens will practice early the next two mornings and with cooler conditions expected (hey, 97 will feel like a cold front after weeks of 105-110 highs), the team should have a good opportunity to get tons of work and conditioning completed.

The Ravens will begin the 2012 schedule on August 25 when they will hit the road to face Hutchinson at 7 p.m. The Ravens home opener will be against Trinity Valley at 7 p.m. on September 1 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
