The Coffeyville Community College football team hosted the annual Football 101 for Women on Aug. 20th at the Coffeyville Country Club and the event was again a great success.

A total of 35 Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens were honored for their academic performance by the NJCAA for the 2014-2015 academic year. Coffeyville had the most number of accolades of any community college in the nation including four athletes who received the Pinnacle Award, the highest academic honor bestowed by the NJCAA.

Two former Coffeyville Red Ravens heard their names called during the NFL Draft on Saturday. Outside linebacker Martrell Spaight was drafted in the fifth round, 141st overall, by the Washington Redskins. A.J. Derby, who was the Ravens quarterback in 2012, was drafted as a tight end by the New England Patriots. Derby was selected in the sixth round, 202nd overall pick in this year's draft.
