Raven golfers finish seventh at NebraskaThe Red Raven golf team placed seventh in the season opening tournament at the Heritage Hills Golf Course in McCook, Nebraska, on September 10-11. The opening event was the first KJCCC designated golf tournament hosted by Colby Community College. Although the Ravens placed seventh overall, they shot the third best score in the final round of the tournament. Sophomore Kyler Brown, a Field Kindley High School graduate, finished tied for eleventh place individually at the tournament. Brown shot rounds of 79, 76, and 79 to post a 54-hole total of 234. Freshman Eddie Hall of Owasso, Oklahoma, posted the low round for the Ravens, shooting a 73 in the final round. I am very proud of our guys for fighting back in the final round after being down, said head coach Bill Williamson. It shows that our team has a lot of character. The team will travel to Miami, Oklahoma to play in the NEO Invitational Tournament on Monday, September 17. The team will resume conference play on September 24 at the second KJCCC designated golf tournament which will be played in Hesston, Kansas. |
