Ravens finish tied for fifth at Winfield tourney; Hall takes third individuallyThe Red Raven golf team traveled to Winfield, Kansas this past Monday to play in their final KJCCC designated tournament for the fall season. The Ravens finished tied for fifth place in the 36-hole tournament. After the first round the Ravens were sitting in sixth place, but the team battled back in the second round to finish in a tie for fifth place with Barton County. “The guys played very well in the second round. I was very proud of how they played and they really fought back and got in contention,” said Head Coach Bill Williamson. “Clayton Collins really turned it around in his second round by shooting a 77 after a bad opening round.” Eddie Hall, a native of Owasso, Oklahoma, finished third individually in the tournament by posting a 73 the first round and a 75 in the second round for a total of 148. Hall only finished four strokes behind the first place. “Eddie played really steady both rounds and was just a hair short of finishing first place,” said Williamson. “I was proud of the way he played this tournament.” Hall is in eighth place individually in conference play. The Ravens finished the fall season in sixth place in the conference, and only a point and a half separates the Ravens from being in fourth place. The team will finish their fall season off with a tournament in Kansas City this coming Monday and Tuesday, October 15 and 16, in a non-conference tournament at Dub’s Dread Golf Course in Kansas City, Kansas.
