Ravens place fifth at final conference tourney; place fifth overall in conferenceThe Raven golf team traveled to Hutchinson on April 19-20 to compete in their final conference tournament. Sophomore Brandon Keen led way in scoring for the Ravens. Keen shot rounds of 76, 73, and 88 to finish in seventh place overall. Kyle Nash shot rounds of 80, 81, and 87 for a 54-hole total of 248. Lyle Eddie had rounds of 80, 78, and 93 for a grand total of 251. Coffeyville native Kyler Brown shot rounds of 85, 81, and 86 for a total of 252, and Eddie Hall rounded out the Ravens scoring with rounds of 87, 80, and 87 for a 254 total. The Raven finished the tournament in fifth place. Hutchinson won the tournament followed by Johnson County, Dodge City, and Kansas City. “I was proud of how our team played this past weekend a couple of kids stepped up to help us out,” said Head coach Bill Williamson. The Ravens finished their conference season in fifth place. Hutchinson clinched the conference title by winning the final tournament of the year. Eddie Hall was named to the All Conference Honorable Mention team for his play this season. Hall’s highest finish was third place at Winfield this past fall. “I think our guys played consistent this year to help us finish fifth, and they are working very hard to do good in the post season,” said Williamson. The Ravens will be in action at the region tournament at the Heritage Hills Golf Course in McCook, Nebraska, and then again on May 20-24 at the national tournament in Huntsville, Alabama.
