Ravens hang on to beat Kansas City 57-53

The Red Ravens hung on to beat Kansas City Saturday night 57-53 in the presence of basketball coaching legend Bobby Knight.  Knight, who traveled to Coffeyville following Texas Tech's game against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, witnessed a defensive struggle eventually won by the Ravens down the stretch.

Boo Richardson scored 17 points and dished off five assists to lead the Ravens.  Isaiah Allen scored 12 points on the strength of a 6-for-6 night from the free throw line.  Malik Powell had a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Kansas City attack.  The Ravens struggled from the field, shooting just 33%, but were 19-for-25 from the charity stripe.  Kansas City shot only 36% from the field and were just 3-for-6 from the free throw line.

The Ravens improve to 16-0 in conference play and to 25-3 overall.  The Ravens end the regular season in the upcoming week.  The Ravens will play host to Labette on March 1 with tip off set for 8 p.m.  The Ravens end the regular season with a road battle at Cowley on March 4.  Tip off in Arkansas City is set for 8 p.m.  The Ravens will be hosting a Region 6 first round playoff game on March 8, opponent to be announced.  Tip off for the playoff game will be at 8 p.m.
