Beavers chomp Ravens, Newman suffers jet lag against Panthers
in Saturday night action of Bricktown Tournament

Bryce Simon scored 20 points, including 5-of-9 behind the three-point arc, and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Pratt Beavers pass the Red Ravens 70-57 Saturday night in the Bricktown Tournament.  Pratt shot 53% from the field for the game and the Ravens were held to just 34% field goal shooting.  Robert Moores scored 15 points for the Beavers, Rochard McAfee had 12 and Jairocey Simpson added 10 points.  Alex Rivas had a game-high 12 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Beavers.

Barry Eberhardt had 19 points for Coffeyville and Aaron Jackson had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Tarod Sanders also hit double-figures for Coffeyville with 11 points, but the rest of the Ravens roster only contributed nine points on the night.

In the early game, Neosho County pulled away late from the Newman University JV for an 84-58 win.  Kefing Hill had 16 points to pace the Panthers, and R.J. Phifer added 14 points and Demetrius Martin scored 13.  Newman JV, which shot just 26% from the field, was paced by Keaton Schultz and Cyle Barnwell with 12 points each.

The Ravens return to action on Wednesday, March 15.  The Ravens will host Butler at 7 p.m. in Nellis Hall.  The Ravens defeated Butler 68-64 in the season opener on Nov. 4 in El Dorado.
