Ravens hold on to beat Butler 68-64 in season openerThe Ravens led by as many as 20 points in the first half and led 41-29 at the break, but had to hold on for a 68-64 win at Butler in the season opener on Nov. 4. Barry Eberhardt scored 13 points to pace a balanced Ravens offense. Daniel Payne came off the bench to score 12 and Papa Oppong added 12 points as well. Tarod Sanders scored 11 in his first game back from missing last season due to an injured shoulder. Tony Durant scored 19 points to lead the Grizzlies. The Ravens shot 42% from the field for the game, but held Butler to just 36% field goal shooting. Coffeyville had a big advantage in the assists department, 10-2 over the Grizzlies. Aaron Jackson started at the point for Coffeyville and led the team with four dishes. The Ravens will be back in action on Nov. 7 when they host NEO at 8 p.m. in the home opener in Nellis Hall. |
