Ravens win double-overtime thriller over PiratesThe Red Ravens came away with a thrilling double-overtime victory over the Independence Pirates on January 31 at Independence. In a ruckus atmosphere, the Ravens and Pirates battled to a 69-69 time at the end of regulation. One overtime was not enough to settle the matter and in the second overtime, the Ravens outscored the Pirates 12-8 to pull out an 89-85 win. Daniel Payne was huge once again for the Ravens. Payne scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Coffeyville. Barry Eberhardt scored 21 and had seven rebounds, Tarod Sanders had 14 and Brandon Kennedy added 10, including two three-pointers in the second overtime. The Ravens are now 8-1 in KJCCC East play and have a two game lead over Fort Scott, Labette, and Kansas City. The Ravens are 18-3 overall on the season. The Ravens will hit the road to Overland Park on February 3 for a 4 p.m. tip against the Johnson County Cavaliers.
