#20 Ravens too much for Scotties, 87-53

Coffeyville erupted for a quick 15-2 lead in the first half and the Scotties never seriously threatened the rest of the way as the Red Ravens defeated the Highland Scotties 87-53 Saturday night in Nellis Hall.  The Ravens improved to 7-1 in the KJCCC East and to 17-3 overall.

Daniel Payne had a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Ravens.  Barry Eberhardt had 21 points and seven boards, and Brandon Kennedy added 19 points for the Ravens.  Every Raven except Ja'Mal Stewart scored for the Ravens.

Mahershal Simonet scored 13 points to pace the Scotties.

The Ravens will hit the road next week.  On January 31, the Ravens face intra-county rival Independence at 8 p.m. at the ICC Fieldhouse.  The Ravens stay on the road on February 3 when they face Johnson County at Overland Park.  Tip off is at 4 p.m.  The Ravens return home to face a tough Allen County squad on February 7.  Tip off is at 8 p.m. in Nellis Hall.
