Ravens hang on for overtime win over
Johnson County The Red Ravens raced out to an 18-2 lead to start the game, but Johnson County fought back to force an overtime against the Red Ravens in Nellis Hall. With the game knotted at 63 with 1.1 seconds remaining in regulation, the Cavaliers had a chance to take the lead, but Jonathan Jackson missed a potential game-winning free throw which was rebounded by the Ravens Barry Eberhardt. The Ravens outscored the Cavaliers 17-9 in overtime to pull out an 80-72 win. Eberhardt had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Ravens and J.J. Seymore had a team-high 16 points. Corey May scored a game-high 24 points for Johnson County and Aaron Linn added 19. The Ravens are now 11-2 overall and 1-0 in KJCCC play. Johnson County drops to 5-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Ravens are at Allen County in Iola on Jan. 6 for an 8 p.m. contest and will return home on January 10 when they host Labette at 8 p.m. in Nellis Hall. |
