Six Ravens named to NJCAA Academic All-American lists 

Six Coffeyville Community College Red Raven athletes were recently named to 2005-2006 NJCAA Academic All-American lists.

Four Ravens were named as Distinguished Academic All-Americans.  The four named were Peter Elliott, Aaron Reeves, Eric Duncan and Katrina Heinrich.  Elliott, from Harper, Kan., and Duncan, from Topeka, Kan., played on the college’s football team this past year.

Reeves, a Skiatook, Okla., native competed on the track and field team, and Heinrich, Shawnee, Kan., played on the softball team.

Two other athletes were named as Academic All-Americans.  Jacinda Claibourn, a Neodesha, Kan., native, competed on the softball team and Amanda Bonfield, Edwardsville, Kan., was a member of the volleyball team this past season.

To be selected as a Distinguished Academic All-American, an athlete must compile a grade point average between 3.8 and 4.0.  An Academic All-American must complete the school year with a grade point average between 3.6 and 3.79.
