Jessica Patrick Named All-Conference, All-District

May 9, 2012

Freshman Jessica Patrick was named honorable mention All-Conference following the 2012 softball season. Patrick was also named first team All-District E. Patrick, a shortshop from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, hit .389 with eight homers and 38 RBIs this past season for the Coffeyville Community College softball team. Patrick also had a .418 on base percentage and a .722 slugging percentage for an OPS of 1.140. Patrick also hit .455 with runners in scoring position this past year. In 41 games, Patrick compiled a .957 fielding percentage.

"Jessie is athletic and works hard. Those two things together are what makes her a great player," said Coffeyville Head Softball Coach Tamika Barnes. "Jessie doesn't accept failure. If she feels herself slipping at all, she immediately figures out what the problem is and she fixes it."

Barnes is expecting Patrick to emerge as a team leader next season as a sophomore. "She has what it takes, along with the returning sophomores, to lead this team to a successful season in 2012-2013," added Barnes.

"Jessie is the type of kid who knows when she needs to step up and say or do something, she doesn't have to be told. Her teammates respect her because she backs up everything she says," said Barnes.
