Raven cross country opens season at Allen meetThe Red Raven cross country team opened the 2007 season on August 24 at a meet hosted by Allen County Community College in Iola, Kansas. Crystal Talton was the lone women runner for the Ravens. She covered the 2-mile course in 16:03 and finished in 24th place. "She was a late addition to our team," said Head Coach Craig Perry. "She is still working herself into shape." On the men's side, the Ravens placed fourth as a team. "Overall, I was very pleased with all the performances and know that we will improve greatly by end of the season," said Perry. Johanna Korir led the Raven contingent by finishing the 5k course in 16:52, good for 14th place overall. Seth Freeman ran the course in 17:20 and finished 23rd overall. Rob Gault set a personal record, besting his previous best by 33 seconds. He ran the course in 17:30 for a 25th place overall finish. Other Raven men competitors included:
The Ravens return to action on September 7. They will compete at Lake Afton Park in Goddard, Kan. in an event hosted by Friends University. The women's 5k will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the men's 8k at 6:45 p.m. |
