Walker breaks own school record in 60m at Johnson County meetJulias Walker has done it again. Walker broke his own school record in the 60-meters at an indoor meet hosted by Johnson County Community College on Feb. 16. Walker ran the 60-meters in 6.68 seconds and his time is currently the third fastest time for a true freshman at all levels including NCAA. Walker had already qualified for nationals with his initial school-record time in the 60-meters he achieved at the Iowa State Open on Jan. 20. Walker will have company at indoor nationals as several other Ravens qualified for nationals at Johnson County. Jarrell Routte also qualified for nationals with a time of 6.84 seconds in the 60-meters. Phillip Horn and Joe Pilkington also qualified for indoor nationals in the pole vault, each with jumps of 14'1.75". The Ravens will compete in the Region VI Indoor Championships this weekend in Manhattan, Kansas on the campus of Kansas State University. Indoor national will be the following weekend, March 2-3, at Lubbock, Texas. The outdoor track season will begin March 15 with the Southwestern Invitational in Winfield, Kansas. |
