Walker breaks region 6 record in 60m at regional meetJulias Walker keeps breaking records in the 60-meters. In the Region 6 Indoor Track and Field Championships held this past weekend at Manhattan, Kansas, Walker ran the 60-meters in a region 6 record-breaking time of 6.62 seconds. Walker is now ranked number one in the NJCAA rankings for the 60-meters and is ranked fourth overall nationally. The national ranking includes all ages and all classes, including the NCAA. "For this performance, Julias was named the Region 6 Male Track Athlete of the region championships," said Head Coach Brad Weber. "To put his time into perspective, the Big 12 Conference had their indoor championships this past weekend as well and winner in their meet had a time of 6.68 seconds in the 60-meters." |

The Red Raven track meet had other solid performances at the Region 6 indoor meet. Jarell Routte placed 11th in the 60-meters with a time of 6.93 seconds and Frank Eugene was 12th with a time of 7.00 seconds. Joe Pilkington placed fourth in the pole vault with a jump of 4.31 meters (14'01.75"). Coffeyville native Phillip Horn was sixth in the pole vault with a jump of 4.15 meters (13'07.25"). Horn also finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.43 seconds, and he also finished second in the pentathlon with 3,332 points. In the men's shot put, Judson Clemons finished fourth and Coffeyville native Troy Briggans placed eighth. Clemons recorded a throw of 13.81 meters (45'03.75") and Briggans had a top throw of 13.58 meters (44'06.75"). Deon Murphy placed eighth in men's 200-meter run with a time of 22.38 seconds. Ramon Harris was 14th in the 200-meter run, finishing with a time of 22.67 seconds. As a team, the Ravens finished eighth out of 14 teams in the region. Several Ravens will be participating in the NJCAA Indoor National Track and Field Championships to be held March 2-3 in Lubbock, Texas. The Ravens competing at nationals include:
