Head Coach Delice Downing is proud to announce that the following high school seniors have signed with Coffeyville Community College. These players will make their college debut in August 2014.

Janelli TorresJanelli Janise Torres Diaz
5’4, Libero
Escuela Luis Hernaiz Veronne High School
Hometown:  Canovanas, Puerto Rico
Parents: Alberto Torres and Jannesse Diaz

Coach Downing Comments: "Janelli (Jan) is a true competitor of the game of volleyball. She is one gifted player that when you think the ball is down, she is making a spectacular play to get it up. Small in size, but stays hungry for the ball. Being a regular in the sand courts will make her transition to the collegiate level very smooth. She is super explosive and has a great read on the ball. Jan for sure will bring our passing and defense back up to where we are competing at the top of our conference. A super athlete who is ready to give her all and make her teammates look good. I know that her best volleyball years are still to come. Janelli also has a great family and puts her education first, this makes a smart, coachable and respectable volleyball player, and that is what every coach wants.  This kid's talent is off the charts. We are blessed to have Janelli. She has a big heart and genuine love of volleyball training and competition."

Polette MedinaPolette Medina
5'8, Outside Hitter
Radians High School

Honors:  Athlete of the Year 2009-2010, Most Valuable Player 2010, 1st place: Copa Coqui 2012, 1st place: Puerto Rican Volleyball League 2012 (LPV), 3rd place: Puerto Rico Volleyball Championship 2012, 1st place: Copa Coqui 2013, 2nd place: Spring Volleyball Challenge 2013, Most Valuable Player 2013.

Coach Downing Comments: "Polette is a outstanding attacker who hits a heavy ball. She is very explosive off the ground and her power is highly needed in a conference that is filled with power hitters. We had more finesse hitters on the outside in 2013 and it kept us alive but just did not get the job done. She is a standout because she is a strong six rotation player that scores in numerous positions.  Polette has  exceptional range both at the offensive and defensive positions.  Not a doubt in my mind she will make our team that much tougher on the outside position."

Brileigh WareBrileigh Ware
5'5, Setter
Jayhawk-Linn High School
Hometown: Moundy City, Kan.
Club Team: Kansas Krush
Parents: Brian and Chasity Ware

Coach Downing Comments: "Brileigh is from Mound City, Kan., but goes to school at Jayhawk-Linn. She led her team to state her senior year and leads her team in assist. She has a heart of gold and plays without any regrets. A great leader and is always doing what it takes to make her teammates look great. I look forward to working with B. She will bring a quicker ball to our game, which is something that we have needed these past few seasons. Brileigh wants to attend cosmetology school after leaving Coffeyville."

I’m excited to see her excel at the college level.  She’s a great addition with high energy, positive outlook and no-fear mentality. Jalee has played for a strong high school program where she has practiced and played against some D1 and D2 players. She knows how to compete at the elite level.  This is the type of player we love bringing into our program. She has a great amount of character and fits in well with our team. Mary has great hands, speed and a high VB IQ, which will make her college transition smooth. Her leadership on and off the court will be key in the success of our season.”
