Delice Downing will be entering her third season at the helm of the Red Raven volleyball program in 2007. Downing has led the Red Raven volleyball program to two consecutive 20-plus win seasons in her first two years as Head Coach. Downing played volleyball, softball and basketball at CCC from 1998 to 2000. In volleyball, she was KJCCC Freshman in the Year in 1998-99 and was conference MVP in 1999-2000. She was also first team all-conference in both her freshman and sophomore years. Downing was also named second team all-conference in softball in 1998-99. Downing graduated from CCC in May 2000. After CCC, Downing transferred to the University of West Alabama on a volleyball scholarship and was a two-year starter on the volleyball team at the university. She received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award in 2002. Downing was a student assistant volleyball coach at West Alabama and was also head coach of the JV volleyball team in 2002. She graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree. |
