Red Raven Divas Volleyball CampThe Coffeyville Community College (CCC) Red Raven Divas hosted their annual camp for aspiring hitters and blockers the week of July 10. Red Raven’s Coach Delice Downing worked with 15 young ladies from across southeast Kansas as they learned the technical skills of the game as well as team building. “I always enjoy working with energetic young ladies who love the sport of volleyball,” said Downing. “I hope that we can grow so that we can get more high school and junior high school players involved.” Awards were presented on the final day of camp. Alyssa Whitman, a junior at Caney High School, was named the Outstanding Hustler/Digger and the Outstanding Setter. Allie Abilez, a senior at Caney High School, was named the Most Consistent Passer and Digger and was given the “Always Talking” award. Katie DeTar, a senior at Cherryvale High School, was named the Ace Server. Maddie Majeski, a sixth grader at Louisburg Middle School, and Kenzie Curran, a seventh grader at Sedan Middle School were named the Most Improved Players.
