#18 Ravens split four matches at Johnson County Challenge

The #18 ranked Coffeyville Red Ravens split four matches at the Johnson County Challenge this past weekend.  The Ravens opened the tournament by falling to #19 North Platte, Nebraska in four games.  The Ravens lost the first game 26-30 before winning the second, 30-27.  North Platte took the last two games 18-30 and 22-30. 

The Ravens rebounded with a win over Lincoln Land, Illinois, a team ranked in the Top 25 nationally.  The Ravens won the match in five games (31-33, 30-21, 30-26, 17-30, 15-12). 

The Ravens then dropped a match to Southwestern Iowa (19-30, 24-30, 30-24, 20-30), but finished on a high note by defeating Central Nebraska in four games.  The Ravens split the first two games with Central Nebraska, but won the final two by identical 30-21 scores to take the match. 

The Ravens are now 16-6 overall heading into today’s triangular.  They are 3-1 in conference play and 2-1 in district play.
