Thomas and Booth sign with four-year schoolsA pair of Red Raven volleyball players signed letter-of-intents with four-year institutions in early May. Victoria Thomas, a sophomore from Richardson, Texas, signed with Rutgers University. The Scarlet Knights are a NCAA Division I program in the Big East Conference. Neodesha, Kansas, native Rebecca Booth signed with Dana College, a NAIA program in Nebraska. Last season for the Ravens, Thomas, an outside hitter, was an honorable mention selection on the KJCCC All-Conference Team. Thomas was also named to the KJCCC All-Academic Team. "I looking forward to Rutgers," said Thomas. "They have great academics and a great coach." Booth, a middle blocker, played the majority of the 2007 season with a knee injury that required surgery following the season. "The academics are really strong," said Booth of Dana College. "The coach is good too." Although Booth is excited about continuing her career, Booth will miss many friends she has met at Coffeyville. "I'm going to miss Lacie Ward and Coach Downing the most," said Booth. |
