| Coffeyville held Butler County to 27% field goal
shooting on the way to a 63-46 win Saturday night in the second evening of
the Thanksgiving Classic. Marquita Thompson scored 16 points and had
eight rebounds to lead the Lady Ravens, now 7-2 on the season.
Whitnee Miller also hit double-figures with 11 points. The Lady
Ravens shot 42% from the field and out-rebounded Butler County by a 50-38
margin.
The Lady Ravens are back in action Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in Nellis Hall. The Lady Ravens will face a difficult challenge, the University of Arkansas-Ft. Smith Lady Lions. [Boxscore] Eastern Oklahoma 67, Barton County 62For the second consecutive night, Barton County watched a huge lead dissipate into a frustrating loss. Barton County led Eastern Oklahoma 28-6 with nine minutes remaining in the first half. Eastern Oklahoma then went on a 19-2 scoring run to cut the lead to 30-25 with 3:40 left in the first half. Barton County ended the half on a 6-0 run and took a 36-25 lead into halftime. Eastern Oklahoma did not take the lead until the 2:28 mark in the second half. Ashley Jackson nailed a three-pointer to give the Lady Mountaineers a 62-60. Eastern Oklahoma then outscored Barton County 5-2 the rest of the game to earn a come-from-behind 67-62 victory. Yesi Castillo scored 18 and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Eastern Oklahoma Vivian Ewalefo had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Barton County. [Boxscore] |
