Women's basketball drops overtime game to #8 BartonThe Red Ravens women's basketball team took the #8 team in the nation to overtime, but eventually lost to the Barton Cougars 86-82 on Saturday night. The loss drops the Ravens to 1-2 on the season. The Ravens trailed 42-33 at halftime, but rallied back in the second half. The Ravens trailed 75-70 late in regulation, but mounted a 5-0 run to knot the score at 75-75 at the end of regulation. However, Barton outscored the Ravens 11-7 in overtime to come away with the win. Megan Klinger scored 16 points on 7-of-11 field goal shooting to lead the Ravens, who shot 39% overall. Keindra Scott added 15 points on 5-of-9 field goal shooting and 5-of-7 from the free throw line. Ashley Coleman added 10 points and Shyvon Spears hauled in a game-leading 14 rebounds. The Ravens make their home debut on Tuesday, November 8, at 6 p.m. in Nellis Hall. The Ravens will play the pre-season #9 team in the nation, the Arkansas-Ft. Smith Lions.
