Women's basketball drops season opener to Butler

The women's basketball team struggled shooting the ball in the season opener Nov. 2 at Butler, making just 19-of-76 field goal attempts.  As a result, the Ravens fell to the Grizzlies 54-45.

Ashley Coleman scored 13 points and shot 5-of-12 from the field to lead the Ravens.  Keindra Scott and Azzie Knox scored eight points each for the Ravens.  Megan Klinger pulled down a team-leading 11 rebounds and Shyvon Spears and Sade Bowen each had 10. Tasha Parker had five steals for Coffeyville.

Brittney Lasley scored 18 points and LeKeisha Gray added 15 to lead the Butler attack.  The Red Ravens will be traveling to Great Bend for a pair of games at the Barton Classic on Nov. 4-5.  On Nov. 4, the Ravens play Pratt at 2 p.m. and the Ravens will face host Barton at 6 p.m. on Nov. 5.
