Ravens outlast Greyhounds 85-81

The Red Ravens built up a 19 point lead, 48-29, early in the second half, but saw the Greyhounds come back to take a 72-69 lead late in the second half.  The Ravens, fortunately for the home fans, rallied late to hold off the Greyhounds 85-81 in Nellis Hall on Saturday night.

Shyvon Spears had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Sade Bowen also had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Azzie Knox added 16 points and Brittany Rochelle came off the bench for 10 points and four assists.  Felicia Herring led the Ravens with seven assists. The Ravens shot 51% from the field for the game.

Fort Scott shot 43% from the field, but were successful on 14-of-23 three-point attempts.  Keisha Walker scored 25 points and was 6-of-8 from the land of three and Rebekah Peterson came off the bench for 16 points including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.  The Ravens, however, dominated the boards, holding a 49-28 rebounding advantage over the Greyhounds.

The Ravens improve to 9-1 in conference play and to 15-7 overall.  The Ravens hit the road for a pair of games next week.  On Wednesday, the Ravens face Neosho County in Chanute at 6 p.m., and on Saturday, the Ravens travel to Highland for a 2 p.m. game against the Scotties.
