Ravens knock off Highland 78-51The Red Ravens improved to 3-0 in KJCCC play and to 9-6 overall with a convincing 78-51 victory over the Highland Scotties on Wednesday night. The Ravens led 34-19 at the half and were never threatened by the Scotties. Shyvon Spears scored 16 points to pace a balanced scoring attack for Coffeyville. Felicia Herring added 12 points, Brittany Rochelle scored 11 and dished out five assists, and Ashley Coleman had 10 points. The Ravens shot 46% from the field and held a commanding 44 to 29 rebounding advantage. For Highland, Melissa Haag scored 24 points to lead the team. Coffeyville will travel to Independence on Saturday for a 6 p.m. match-up against the intra-county rival Pirates. The Ravens are back home on January 21 when they will face Johnson County at 5 p.m. in Nellis Hall. |
