Ravens hold off Pirates 63-49The Red Ravens shot 56% from the field in the first half and raced out to a 39-21 halftime lead and held off a couple of Pirate second half rallies in recording a 63-49 win on Wednesday night. The victory improves the Ravens to 12-1 in conference play and to 18-7 overall. Shyvon Spears scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to pace the Ravens and Brittany Rochelle added 13 points. Nikina Hill had 16 points for Independence and Danille Stevens added 13. The Ravens held a commanding 40 to 21 rebounding advantage over the Pirates. The Ravens return to action on Saturday night as they will host Allen County. Tip off for the women's game is 5 p.m. in Nellis Hall. |
