Ravens win thriller over Arkansas-Ft. Smith

The Red Ravens won a nip-and-tuck battle Nov. 8 over visiting Arkansas-Ft. Smith, the #9 ranked team in the NJCAA pre-season poll.  Brittany Rochelle scored 13 points to pace a balanced attack.  Sade Bowen scored 12 points, Felicia Herring added 11 and Ashley Coleman scored 10.  Bowen and Tasha Parker pulled down nine rebounds each.  The Ravens shot only 30% from the field for the game, but forced 25 Ft. Smith turnovers and the Ravens held a 57 to 49 rebounding advantage.  The Ravens hauled in an impressive 27 offensive rebounds which allowed for numerous second and third shots around the hoop.

Katie Mattingly led Arkansas-Ft. Smith with 18 points and Keanna Vicks and Birdie Campbell scored 13 each.

The Ravens, now 2-2, are off until November 18-19 when they will host the Coffeyville Classic.  The Ravens will play Moberly, Missouri on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. and on Nov. 19 they will host Eastern Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
