Ravens take KJCCC East with win at Cowley

The Ravens were sluggish at times, but with Saturday's 73-68 win over the Tigers at Cowley, Coffeyville clinched the KJCCC East Conference title.  It is the Ravens second outright KJCCC East Conference Championship in Emily Washburn's four years as Head Coach.  The Ravens were also conference champions in 2004 and were co-champions with Labette in 2006.

Shyvon Spears had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Ravens and Brittany Rochelle also scored 20 points including several important baskets down the stretch.  Tasha Parker also hit double-figures with 11 points.  Ashley Cole had 18 points to pace the Cowley the offense.

The Ravens are now 16-1 in KJCCC East play and 26-3 overall.  The Ravens will finish the regular season by hosting intra-county rival Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Nellis Hall.  The Ravens will then begin Region 6 Tournament play on March 7 with a 6 p.m. tip off in Nellis Hall.  The Ravens will likely host Garden City.  The Region 6 Tournament will then move to Wichita, March 10-13.  Opposition and game times will be announced.
