#14 Ravens defeat #16 Cloud County; advance to Region 6 championship game against SewardShyvon Spears scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Coffeyville Red Ravens to a 76-68 win over Cloud County Monday afternoon in a Region 6 semi-final match-up in Wichita. The Ravens advance to the Region 6 championship game to be played Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Koch Arena on campus of Wichita State University. The Ravens, 30-3 overall on the season, will play #2 Seward County. Seward County will enter with a 32-1 record. The Saints only loss this season was by three points, 69-66, to Barton County. The Ravens led 40-32 at the halftime break and led most of the second half. In addition to Spears' break-out, the Ravens also got 14 points from Syeeda Echols, including a 6-of-7 effort from the free throw line. Sade Bowen added 12 points, all in the first half, and Megan Klingler and Brittany Rochelle each scored eight points. Klingler and Rochelle had nine and seven rebounds, respectively. The Ravens also tied the school record for the most wins in school history. The 30 wins equal the record accumulated by the 1997-1998 team which went 30-7 and claimed the Region 6 championship. The win over Cloud County was also Head Coach Emily Washburn's 98th career win at Coffeyville in four seasons. She will enter the Region 6 championship game with a 98-32 mark (.754 winning percentage).
