#14 Ravens thrash Garden City, 84-54

The heavily-favored Red Ravens did not fire on all cylinders on Wednesday night in first round Region 6 action, but they were in tune enough to get past Garden City, 84-54, in Nellis Hall.  The Ravens, 28-3 on the season, got 17 points from Lacie Ward, including a 5-of-9 effort from beyond the three-point arc. The Ravens as a team made 12-of-28 attempts from three-point range.  Syeeda Echols and Tasha Parker scored 11 points each for the Ravens.  Every Raven, except one, scored on the night for Coffeyville.  Shyvon Spears reached double-figures in rebounds with 10 and Lennisha "Smurf" Johnson had a game-high seven assists for the Ravens.

The Red Ravens will advance to the second round of the Region 6 Tournament.  The Ravens will play on Saturday, March 10, at 7 p.m.  The Ravens will play Hutchinson, a 58-36 winner over Independence on Tuesday night.  The remaining region tournament games will be played at Koch Arena on the campus of Wichita State University.
