#14 Ravens fall to #2 Seward County in OT

The Lady Ravens gave #2 ranked Seward County all they wanted in the Region 6 Championship game on March 13, but Coffeyville lost a heart-breaker in overtime, 68-65.  The Ravens led 27-24 at halftime after going on a 16-5 run to end the first half.  The game remained tight throughout the second half before ending in a 58-58 tie at the end of regulation.  Seward County was able to pull away in overtime and came away with a hard-fought 68-65 win.

The Lady Ravens end the season with a 30-4 overall record.  The Lady Ravens tied the school record in the Region 6 semi-final win over Cloud County.  The 1997-1998 team finished the year with a 30-7 mark.

Shyvon Spears and Megan Klingler each recorded double-doubles against Seward County.  Spears had 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Klingler had 10 points and 12 rebounds.  Syeeda Echols scored 12 points and Sade Bowen added nine.

Region 6 Tournament MVP Tegan Cunningham scored 24 points to lead Seward County and Chontaye Walter added 18 points for the Lady Saints.

Following the game, three Ravens were named to the Region 6 All-Tournament Team.  Those selected were Shyvon Spears, Syeeda Echols and Brittany Rochelle.
