Ravens hammer Garden City 92-45 in shoot-out

The Red Ravens hammered Garden City 92-45 in Saturday night action at the Jayhawk Shoot-Out.  Shyvon Spears had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Ravens.  Megan Klingler scored a team-high 16 points on the strength of 6-for-7 shooting from the field.  Lacie Ward scored 15 and Asaiah Lowe and Felicia Herring had 11 points each.  Sharniece Sanders had 21 points and 20 rebounds to lead Garden City.  The Ravens are now 8-2 on the season and will open up conference play on December 6 with a road trip to Highland.  The Ravens are back home on December 9 when they will tangle with Arkansas-Ft. Smith at 7 p.m. in Nellis Hall.

Ravens defeat Dodge City 66-48 in shoot-out match-up

The Red Ravens women's basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 66-48 win over Dodge City on Friday night in the Jayhawk Shoot-Out.  The Ravens, who led just 26-24 at the half, got 14 points and 14 rebounds from Shyvon Spears in a balanced scoring attack.  Lacie Ward came off the bench for 11 points and Syeeda Echols hit double-figures with 10.  Brittany Rochelle had a team-high seven assists and Smurf Johnson recorded six assists.
