Student Background Checks

Dear Student:

Changes are taking place within healthcare facilities nationally.  These changes directly affect all health programs at Coffeyville Community College.

The Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO), which accredits healthcare facilities across the country, enforced background screening September 2004 and has set requirements mandating that students in a healthcare field must now complete the same background check as hospital employees.

A background investigation must be completed prior to your acceptance into a healthcare program or course at Coffeyville Community College.  Students are responsible for the payment of their background investigation, and American DataBank must conduct the investigation.

To initiate your background clearance, go to the website www.coffeyvillebackgroundcheck.com and follow the step process.  The profile information you input will be sent directly to the school upon completion.

The following searches are required for students attending facilities for clinical through Coffeyville Community College.

1. Criminal History Record Search
2. Social Security Number Trace
3. Residency History
4. Nationwide Sex Offender Registry
5. OIG (Office of the Inspector General)
