Electrical Instructor

Technical instructional staff/faculty of Coffeyville Community College are responsible to the Vice President for Innovation & Business Initiatives for instructional and personnel matters and to fulfill the requirements as outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement.  The Electrical Instructor is responsible for the safety, security, and operation of the College Electrical Technology instructional area and equipment.

Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To):

  • Teach courses as assigned by the Vice President for Innovation and Business Initiatives.
  • Coordinate the Electrical instruction curriculum.
  • Oversee the operation of the college electrical technology classroom, shop, including the security, supplies, maintenance, and supervision of students.
  • Revise and update course materials and content to keep program curriculum current to meet industry standards.
  • Develop new courses and program initiatives as assigned.
  • Advise and enroll students according to established procedures.
  • Maintain instructional budget within established policies and budget parameters.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications

  • Proven teaching ability to communicate and demonstrate the necessary electrical skills to all age groups and education levels.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Kansas Journeyman's license within one year of accepting employment with the College.
  • An understanding of the role of advisory committees for program improvement, student placement, and relevance of skills taught in the program.
  • Willingness to assist in grant activities for the continued improvement of the program area.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Required Experience

A minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably in a community college or technical school or at least five years experience in business or industry in a position relating to the subject area.  Experience in the development and implementation of new courses, programs, and workshops.

Required Education

A Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in the teaching field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education is preferred.

This is a full-time 10-month contract.

Gym Custodian

Coffeyville Community College is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Gym Custodian. Hours are 3:00 to 10:30 p.m. with shift differential pay. One year experience, a driver’s license, and 75 lb. lifting ability is required.

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician. 2 years related exp in construction, electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing preferred. Technical degree preferred. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Typewell Transcriber

Typewell Transcriber. Provide real time typed communications for hearing impaired students with use of specialized software and notebook computer. Position requires computer knowledge, excellent listening skills, and typing assessment skills test. This is a part-time position (aprox 20 hrs/wk). One to three week training will start asap to be ready for the fall semester.

Resident Assistant

The Resident Assistant will be responsible to the Director of Student Life and the Associate Director of Student Life for maintaining a quality Residence Hall atmosphere by overseeing residents, developing programming to build community among the residents and to ensure that all of Coffeyville Community College’s standards and policies are being maintained within student life programs at CCC.  Resident Assistants will serve in all capacities as an example and mentor to the student population on and off campus.

Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To):

  • Knowledge and enforcement of all rules and regulations of the Residence Halls.
  • Assist with student orientation.
  • Work Security Box as scheduled.
  • Work the Game Room as scheduled.
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel on facility issues.
  • Assist Dir. of Student Life with Residence Hall inspections.
  • Assist with student activities.
  • Supervise community service hours.
  • Assist students with security and campus issues.
  • Assist with disciplinary issues as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Student Life and Associate Director of Student Life in providing a safe and secure living environment for students in the Residence Hall.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate with young adults.
  • Ability to effectively work with various publics and diverse populations.
  • Willingness to enforce institutional policies.
  • Ability to coordinate with campus personnel to resolve problems and prevent conflicts.

Required Experience

High School or College experience working with students.

Required Education

A Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education is required.
