Higher Learning Commission Team Evaluates College During Accreditation Visit

Peer evaluators assigned by the Higher Learning Commission were at Coffeyville Community College this week to conduct a periodic evaluation for accreditation.  The review analyzed the institution’s ongoing ability to meet the commission’s criteria for accreditation.

The four evaluators met with community members, faculty/staff, and students as part of the assessment.  Additional in depth meetings were also held with various areas of the college including the Coffeyville Technical Campus, Distance Learning, Enrollment, and Assessment.  A site evaluation of the Columbus Technical Campus was also completed.

“Members of the evaluation team received positive feedback from the community members, staff/faculty, and student meetings,” said Nicole Celeste, Director of Marketing at Coffeyville Community College.  “Through these meetings, it was apparent to the team that CCC has a strong supportive culture.”

The evaluation team will submit a report of the visit to the Higher Learning Commission in approximately six weeks.  Additional information on the results will be available at that time.

The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association is the accrediting agency for CCC.  Accreditation ensures a level of quality in the education students receive from an institution.  It also ensures that degrees and course credits will be recognized by other institutions.  CCC has been accredited by the commission since 1972.
