CCC Technical Campus Welcomes New Instructors

The Coffeyville Community College Technical Campus welcomes new instructors to their Medical Assisting, Nursing and Precision Machining Programs.  As students begin the new school year they will be greeted by familiar and new faces. 

Due to enrollment increases, the Medical Assisting program added Christina Tucker to a full-time instructional position.  Christina is a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and previously worked for CCC as an administrative assistant in the EMT-Paramedic program.  She began working as a Medical Assistant in a local doctor’s office in 2001, and has worked closely with the Medical Assisting program as an adjunct instructor and clinical mentor the last two years.  Christina is also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Heather Pollet, BSN, RN is currently serving as the Interim Nursing Director for CCC.  She has been teaching since the program began in 2010.  She received her RN from NEO A&M College, and her BSN from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  She will complete her Masters of Science in Nursing-Nurse Educator in December of 2011 from the University of Oklahoma and plans to begin her PhD in Nursing in August of 2012 at the University of Oklahoma. 

Renea Jones, MSN, RN will take on the role of full time Nursing faculty.  Renea has worked for Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for the past nine years in various areas including medical surgical, intensive care, emergency and long term care.  She began teaching at CCC in 2010 as adjunct faculty and now transitions into the role of full time Nursing faculty.  Renea received her RN from Labette Community College, her BSN from the University of Phoenix and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Walden University.

Anastasia O’Connell, BSN, RN also joins the CCC staff as full-time Nursing faculty.  She is native to Coffeyville and graduated from Pittsburg State University with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  She has worked in an outpatient hemodialysis unit at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville since graduation.  Anatasia began teaching at CCC in 2010 as an adjunct clinical instructor and is very proud to become full time faculty.  She will begin her Masters of Science in Nursing in August of 2011.

Christal Cook, MSN, BSN, RN, will become our newest adjunct clinical Nursing Faculty member.  She is originally from Indianapolis, Ind.  She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Phoenix.  Her work history includes time as a staff nurse in surgery, a clinical supervisor, Perioperative Director, and an Operating Room nurse.  Christal previously taught in a Surgical Technology program at Paris Junior College in Texas before relocating to Coffeyville.

Cleo Ruark will take the reins of the Precision Machining program offered at CCC.  He is native to Coffeyville and attended the Precision Machining Program at the Southeast Kansas Area Technical School in 1977.  He worked for a short time doing construction in Chicago before moving back to Coffeyville and going to work at Magic Circle in 1979.   He began his work there as a journeyman machinist, then shift supervisor, and worked his way up to production manager.  During his 32 years at Magic Circle he worked with tooling, manual and computer controlled machines, and CNC programming.   His goal for the program is “to graduate knowledgeable students who will be able to pursue careers in machining.”
