Automotive Service Technology Instructor/Aide

Jeff Phillips, Automotive Instructor, brings a strong background in industry to the Automotive Service Program, joining the Coffeyville Community College staff in 2004. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Technology from Pittsburg State University. Jeff has worked in area dealerships in both Kansas and Missouri, enabling him to bring current, real-world experience to the classroom. He is the SkillsUSA-VICA advisor for the Columbus Campus and looks forward to participating in state and national competitions.

Jeff is Master ASE Certified and holds certifications in the following areas:

  • Automatic Tans/Transaxle
  • Manual Drive Train & Axles
  • Suspension & Steering
  • Brakes
  • Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • Heating & Air Conditioning

Richard Eckler, Automotive Service Aide, brings 33 years of Automotive experience to the Automotive program, joining Coffeyville Community College in 2004. Richard has worked as a Diesel Mechanic for 31 years for area freightlines, and 2 years as a Service Writer & Shop Foreman in an area automotive dealership.
