Djoubil "Jubee" Palanga, May 2003 graduate from Togo - “Coffeyville
Community College is one of the best schools I’ve ever been to. The
International Coordinator Marla Larimore is a very nice lady and is very
dedicated to her students. She always makes sure that all the students get
to know each other by organizing meetings at her house with cookouts, and
meetings at her office. She introduces them to the community of Coffeyville
by organizing activities such as International Week, Homecoming activities,
presentations, and visitations to the Coffeyville High School by which
students are in contact with a lot of people and have the opportunity to
share their cultures with the society. She also makes sure that all of the
students are doing well in their classes and help them with the advice that
they need. She also helps the students with preparing many documents with
the INS and even filling out the work-permit application. At CCC the students get to study with people from different places of the USA and other parts of the world. The school offers a Learning Lab that helps the students with their homework, doing their researches for different classes, mathematics, computer courses, and even in the learning and improvement of their English speaking and writing skills. The courses offered at CCC are very good. The classes are small, which gives students the opportunity to communicate better with the teachers and ask questions. The teachers are very nice and always available to help the students whether in their classrooms or their offices. The whole staff at CCC is friendly and treats international students with respect. This makes the students feel more at home and comfortable. The president and the deans are always ready to help students with every problem they have. The Campus is full of activities such as Phi Theta Kappa, SGA, theatre, ballgames, and many other activities. Coffeyville Community College (with the help of my International Coordinator, my teachers, and my friends) helped me a lot and prepared me for the next step of my education. Today, however I am not living in Coffeyville; I cannot spend a day without talking about CCC because it filled me with great memories and experiences. It is a place where I learned a lot, improved my English, and developed my personality. I will truly recommend CCC to any of my friends and family, as my cousins recommended it to me. I believe they will discover the best things they can expect from a school. |
