The Coffeyville Community College quiz bowl team won their season opening tournament on Oct. 27 at Neosho County Community College in Chanute.

The Ravens went 5-0 in the tournament and finished two matches ahead of second place Johnson County.

Competing for the Ravens were sophomores Austin Baughman, Michael Abbott, Candice Hagebusch, Zach McClenning, Kyle Darnell, Notch Daita and Bethany Vowell.

"As befitting a seasoned group of trivia veterans, they destroyed all competition," said CCC Quiz Bowl Coach Ryan Butcher. "Things are looking good for us to win first at the Snow Bowl on December 1."

The Ravens will compete next at Hutchinson Community College on Dec. 1 to play in aforementioned Snow Bowl Tournament. That will be the final tournament of the fall semester for the CCC quiz bowl team.
