Coffeyville Community College Bookstore Manager Karen Strimple has been selected to serve a 3 year-term as Conference Chair of Mid-States Association of College Stores (MSACS). Mid-States is a nonprofit organization comprised of college stores in the mid-states region including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, as well as vendor partners.

As conference chair, Strimple will be responsible for the organizing and planning of the MSACS annual fall conference and trade show.

"Karen is an excellent fit for our MSACS Board.  As president of Mid-States it is my job to appoint strong leaders to two extremely important positions; one is Conference chair and the other is Education chair,” said Jerri Lynn Lyddon, MSACS President.  “Karen immediately came to mind to serve as conference chair due to previous experience as Kansas Trustee for the Mid-States Board, her previous experience as president of the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce, her passion for the college bookstore industry, her ability to "get the job done", and her likeability.  She works well with others and making sure the Fall Conference runs smoothly is no small feat! I know she will represent not only MSACS well, but also Coffeyville Community College."

The 2014 MSACS fall conference will be held in Omaha, Nebraska, followed by a location to be determined in Missouri in 2015.
