Coffeyville Community College To Honor Walton and Depenbusch

The Coffeyville Community College Wall of Honor Committee invites you and a guest to attend a dinner paying tribute to college retirees and offer special recognition to Harold Depenbusch and Wilbur “Buck” Walton for their outstanding contributions to Coffeyville Community College and their community.  Each year, current faculty and staff nominate retirees who positively impacted the life of students at Coffeyville Community College and the community.  Harold Depenbusch and Buck Walton will be the honorees at this year’s Wall of Honor Retiree Recognition dinner and program to be held on October 25 at the Coffeyville Community College Student Union.

Buck Walton had a distinguished career as a Math Instructor at CCC for 38 years before retiring in 2005.  He is currently serving a fifth year as a board member for the college.  Buck will be recognized for his continuing support of the college and dedication as a board member.  Since his retirement, Buck has continued to enjoy buying and selling antiques and spending time with his family and two grandchildren.

Harold Depenbusch began teaching Precision Machining with SEKTS in 1969 and retired in 2006.  Harold was a patient instructor who strived to give each student individual attention.  As an instructor, his attention to helping students apply knowledge gained in the classroom to the work environment gave his graduates a positive reputation in area machine shops.  Harold continues to be involved with the technical programs.   Copyrighted in 1985, Harold wrote and designed a hit and miss engine, and to date has sold over 7000 engine plans.  Harold is still hard at work in his retirement. He is in high demand doing machining work for area businesses.  He farms with his son on the family farm in Udall, Kan. and his five grandchildren keep him hopping.
